“Ghosts: Music For Piano Vol. 2 ” is comprised of 11 piano tracks composed between 2017-2022, and is a follow up to “The Island: Music For Piano Vol. 1”. Both albums were composed and recorded on the same stunning 1900 Chickering grand piano.

‘Barcarolle (for piano) is an arrangement of a synth track from “The Deep End”. It uses a custom tuning inspired by just intonation, and tuned by Seth Olson. The arrangement was a fun puzzle because the original synth patch has a feature where every pitch bounces up a 5th when the key is released… something that is impossible on the piano. To include the extra pitches, I composed it as a canon at the 5th.

The music heard on “Ghosts: Music For Piano Vol. 2” is both nostalgic and hopeful. May it serve as a dreamy escape, a warm cacoon, awaiting emergence.

Grid of Points is more brighter compared to its previous sister album Ruins, yet the album still feels very dark, possibly caused by Liz’s inhuman ability to make the calming sound disturbingly beautiful. Every moment on here, yes that’s including that ending to Breathing, makes me feel so emotional in different ways, but Driving specifically has such a punch to it like no other. alicedreadfuls
