The title The Island comes out of an image that popped in my mind while playing piano… of an island where there is nothing to do but play music for the birds, plants, wildlife, and surrounding waters. It's a tranquil and beautiful place, but lonesome with a vastness that stretches toward the horizon.

Composed on a gorgeous 1900 Chickering piano with a unique, warm, rich tone and hauntingly long decay, this music is an exploration of emotional, psychic and physical resonance.
